When I started writing and publishing, I had two children, a bunch of dogs, a Redneck husband, and one completed document in Word Perfect. Since then, e-publishing has become legitimate, self-publishing has become popular, and books are more likely to be purchased online than at a bookstore. Somethings, however, never change.

For example, I grew up reading romance, mysteries, and science fiction. The stories I cherished influenced what I love to write. To know what I write, you have to know that the first question I always ask about any book or movie is “Does it have a happy ending?”. If it doesn’t, I’m not interested. (There are exceptions to that, but…that’s another story) My love of kinky people and kinky stuff has led me to write about relationships that are slightly bent and flawed. You can always count on two things with a Jennifer Leeland book: angst and kink.

I live in the Northern California Boonies but sadly, I’ve never seen Big foot. I have been published with Cobblestone Press as Jennifer McKenzie and self-published as erotic romance author Jennifer Leeland.

My favorite quote:
““I do know the worst sin–perhaps the only sin–passion can commit, is to be joyless.” From “Gaudy Night” by Dorothy L. Sayers
